| Along with our major concerts, the Saint Joseph Symphony is proud to touch the community in other ways throughout the year: |
- We perform a series of youth concerts at the Missouri Theater, attended by 4th, 5th and 6th grade students across the Midland Empire.
- A brass ensemble made up of Symphony musicians performs patriotic music in Saint Joseph on the 4th of July.
- We perform periodic concerts in other venues in the region, including Missouri Western State University, Northwest Missouri State University and area high school auditoriums.
- Our Petting Zoo program brings Symphony musicians into many area elementary schools for children in the 4th and 5th grades to see up orchestral instruments close.
|
Nearly three thousand elementary school students from across the Midland Empire attend our
Youth Concerts every year, giving them a chance to learn about orchestral music
and the fun our musicians have playing together.
The Petting Zoo program gives children a chance to hold and play instruments, often for the first time.
