Friends of the Symphony
The Friends of the Symphony (formerly The Symphony Guild) has been in existence for more than 50 years. Although a very small group, the "Friends" is very active and strong group of volunteers. The "Friends" have a monthly meeting, have fundraisers, and plan special events for the Saint Joseph Symphony.
One of the "Friends" biggest events was the "Crystal Ball." Although, the "Crystal Ball" has not been held for the last few years, the success of the event and the fun that was had by those that attended, is still talked about it today.
The "Friends" board chairman serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Saint Joseph Symphony. Several "Friends" also serve on the Symphony board.
Some of the major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Fund-raising
• Selling chocolate truffles at concerts
• Organize fund-raising pre-concert and post-concert events
• Preparing and selling Hy-Vee Gourmet Apple Pies
• Planned and staffed the "On Stage" event.
• Raffles
• And much, much more.
Hospitality

• Friends serve as greeters in the foyer of the Missouri Theater prior to all concerts.
