Originally conceived as a fun, interactive music education program designed to introduce children to the richness, joy, creativity, and beauty of classical music, B.A.C.H. has proven itself to be a captivating musical experience for adults new to classical music as well.
B.A.C.H. is a hands-on experience that combines storytelling, rhythm games, live instrument demonstrations, and guided listening to help learners explore the fundamentals of music in a playful and engaging way. Inspired by the legacy of Johann Sebastian Bach and the timeless value of music education, the program aims to spark curiosity and foster a lifelong love for music among children ages 5– 12 and to inspire adults who may not think they like clssical to music to take a second look. Our B.A.C.H. program takes a small audience on an up close and personal journey through harmony, melody and rhythm.
Led by collaborative pianist, Lorrie Dixon and occasional musical friends, this program is a place to discover music in a way that feels exciting and accessible. Mrs. Dixon uses her considerable talents at the keyboard and as a passionate musician to inspire and encourage interactive participation with varied genres of music. With B.A.C.H. we aim to reach younger children as well as older age groups who may be new to the foundational role of classical music.
Community partnerships, school districts, and local organizations interested in hosting or participating in B.A.C.H. are encouraged to contact the Saint Joseph Symphony office at 816-233-7701 for more information.
